Micromax which is focusing on the production of Smartphone has officially announced the launch of 5 inch Micromax Canvas A100 Smartphone. It has been priced at Rs. 9,990 in India. It supports some very cool features which are yet to be seen. The phone weighs 168 gram and comes with capacitive touchscreen display. Let us look at the review in details.

Micromax Canvas A100 sports a big screen of 5inch with 854*480 pixel resolution with capacitive touch screen display. It supports multi tasking so that you can work on many applications simultaneously. The display is great and responsive.
Micromax Canvas A100 Software
Micromax Canvas A100 is a dual sim phone powered by 1 GHz Single core processor running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone gives internal memory storage of 2GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card slot. The phone offers a 512 MB of phone memory. Internal memory is 2GB but the space left after the pre-loaded apps is around 1.34 MB.
Micromax Canvas A100 -Other Applications
Micromax Canvas A100 helps you answer all your queries about how to make calls, send messages, know about your nearest shops etc. It gives you preloaded application of all your social networking, YouTube, WAP, GPRS and EDGE, GPRS and Times of India news apps. The phone also features FM Radio and Wi Fi. It comes with accelerometer and light sensors. It supports music format of MP3. WAV, WMA, AAC+, H.263 and H.264. It does not have AISHA.

I have checked the video settings many times. I could not find anything from where i could say that it supports video recording in HD. I have not checked whether the phone supports Skype or not. Most probably the phone does not support Skype and this can be a major drawback of the gadget. The phone does support skype but the quality is very bad……I am having some touch problems,sometimes when I touch one part of the screen the menu buttons automatically respond thus causing problems

Hello Saurabh! Yes there are so many rumors on the net. Even in one highly reputed magazine, i found the prices of both these phones- Micromax Canvas A100 and Micromax A90 are same. Anyways, to answer your query, i would like to say that, the phone will have a dual core processor very soon, but the one i reviewed has a single core processor. The phone is a real competitor of Galaxy Note and according to me this is a great gadget to have at this price, infact the best Android phone under 10000 INR. If your budget is Rs 10000, this is best phone for you. And if you can spare 2000 more, get Micromax A90.

What is the available internal memory for installing apps?
Update: 2 GB (enough to download sufficient apps) 🙂 You will find some apps already preinstalled like- M Buddy, My SMS, Google Messenger, Whatsapp etc. Considering the memory consumed by the pre-installed apps, space remaining is around 1.5 GB.

Canvas A100 is a good smartphone under 10k. But the touch is not that fluid like A90. So i would suggest you to go for Micromax A90 Superfone. Quality seems good and just imagine at such a low price, you are getting a good quality phone. Thanks to Micromax!

Well according to me, if you are a real game lover, do not go for Micromax phones. You may not have the best gaming experience with these mobiles. Better to go with Samsung or HTC if you want a mobile to have good gaming experience.

In terms of touch, A90 is better than A100. But still at this affordable price range, the touch seems to be very good. If we talk about the camera, its just satisfactory i should say. If we compare this gadget with any Samsung 5MP mobile, A100 may not prove to be the best. I would give 7 and 8 points (out of ten) for camera and touch 🙂

No till now i have not faced any. The phone is very new so at the moment it will be difficult to say whether the phone is going to have any such issues while running apps or not. 🙂

At present the phone is having a Single core processor. The phone with dual core is expected to be available around the end of September. However the internal memory is 2 GB (confirmed).

Look Karan BlackBerry is a brand that has already established themselves. BlackBerry phones will have different features to that of the phones of companies like Micromax. However Micromax Canvas A100 seems to be a very good phone at the price range. Both the phones are equally good. You will get a single core processor if you buy now. If you wait till the end of September, you will get a phone with Dual core processor. IPS LCD is nothing but a type of Display. You can find IPS LCD in the LG Optimus 2X mobile phone. As far as Micromax Canvas A100 is concerned, the phone has Amoled display and not IPS LCD. I could not find anything like smile detection feature. Well Micromax claims to be the second best Android phone supplier in the country. I have heard that Micromax customer satisfaction is not that good but personally never faced any issue with it. On the basis of music, A100 is satisfactory. A90 has better music feature than A100. If we judge on the basis of its cost, A90 is better than any other phone available in the market. When compared to HTC Wildfire, the camera is equally good (HTC- 9.1/10, A100- 9/10). A90 looks better than other two. Two reason for saying this- Ace has 3.5 Capactitive touchscreen where A90 has 4.3″ Super AMOLED display (A100 has 5 inch Amoled Display). Touch is very fluid in A90. Battery used is 1350mAH battery in Samsung Galaxy Ace where as it is 1600mAh battery in superfone (and 2000 mAh in A 90).

As i said, A100 comes with single core processor. A90 too has a single core processor. A90 will have dual core processor by End of September. About A100, they have not yet confirmed. You can be sure that A100 is having a single core processor, and not dual core ( Confirmed ).

I just wanted to know about screen clarity of micromax A100 as compared to samsung galaxy ace. Am mainly concentrating on screen size and am least bothered about the processing speed and all. Is this phone compatible for HD video songs? If the screen clarity is equivalent to samsung galaxy ace mobile then definitely i will buy this phone 🙂

One of the major cons of Galaxy Ace is that the phone has no Flash player. The resolution is also not that great. As you want a larger size screen, let me tell you Samsung Galaxy Ace has 3.5 inch screen where as A100 has almost 5 inch screen. Music is also not that good in Galaxy Ace. The only good thing about the phone is the low price. But now, Micromax A100 is providing great features ( for ex- the size of the screen is almost 5 inch) at same price. What more you need? The resolution of A100 is better than the Samsung Galaxy Ace. Galaxy Ace display has a screen resolution of 320×480 pixels whereas Micromax A100 can display upto 480×854. Certainly A100 is better than Galaxy Ace.

Let me tell all of u that ,the only reason of average touch of A100 is its processor whreas the multitouch level of A100 is better than A 90.

It depends on Micromax but according to me the cost should not go above Rs 11500.
I bought A100 recently it costs 9800 only
and believe me its the best phone u can get under 10k, also it gives u a massive workspace of 5 inches.

There is no problem in downloading apps from play store. I see no reason for this. Only thing to worry is that you will not have more than 134 MB memory for installing apps 🙂

Of course, there is a huge difference. You can easily understand with this simple stat- A90 comes with a 8MP camera whereas A100 comes with 5MP camera! Whereas Atrix 2 is also having 8 MP camera:)

Yes Krishan A100 supports Skype but the front camera being 0.3 MP, the quality is not good.
